Maybe you aren’t aware these are a ‘thing’, or perhaps you've only seen chunky fondant roses on a mass-produced cake.
Well I’m here to tell you that our bespoke, handcrafted wafer paper flowers are absoultely a thing, and they’re a world apart from anything you’ll find ready-made on a supermarket shelf.
So why would you choose wafer paper flowers over fresh?
Well . . . you might not. Perhaps you want your cake flowers to be an exact match to your table arrangements or bouquet, but allow me to give you a few reasons why handmade flowers might be just what you’re looking for.
Since they're made rather than grown, wafer paper flowers are never in contact with pesticides or other chemicals so they're completely food safe. They're also non-toxic, unlike some varieties of fresh flowers and foliage.
They can be made in any colour to complement fresh bouquets and arrangements, to match your wedding colour palette, or to produce a flower unique to you.
Every flower is available all year round so favourite blooms can be enjoyed out of season, and because ours are made here in Scotland they also help to reduce air miles.
Creating these wee beauties is a skilled process, with every petal and leaf cut, coloured, shaped, wired and arranged by hand. It’s not unusual for a single bloom to take several hours. So, yes, they do cost more than fresh, but you won’t find them wilted and sad when the party’s over. With the right care handmade flowers can last for many years and make a beautiful keepsake.
