It’s May, and spring appears to be trying its very hardest. There’s blossom on the trees and the beautiful Borders countryside is looking greener every day, so this month we’re taking a look at colour. Specifically, Pantone’s colour of the year for 2024, Peach Fuzz.

Here’s what Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute has to say: “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

That just has “wedding” written all over it.
Whether it’s a pop here and there, or a colourful thread woven through your whole wedding, peachy tones bring softness, joy, elegance and warmth. It’s a colour equally at home in a rustic barn or a mansion house and sits beautifully next to lush greenery, soft pastels or rich autumnal reds.

There are lots of ways to incorporate your wedding colour into your cake design. Your cake absolutely doesn’t have to be white. Colour can be part of the fondant finish, with subtle marbling or coloured tiers. It can be added as a delicate detail or ribbon. And let’s not forget the flowers.
Of course, it’s your day and you absolutely should have it your way. Maybe peach just isn’t your thing. Whatever your dream theme, get in touch to chat to us about how we can bring it to life in your own edible showstopper.
